WHAT IS AN NFT?

Taking the digital world of art and collectables by storm, Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are cryptographic assets based on blockchain technology. Each NFT has a unique identification code and metadata that sets each one apart from the other. An NFT can’t be copied and gives the owner complete ownership of the collectable, thereby, giving meaning to the ‘non-fungible’ aspect. NFTs cannot be replaced or interchanged unlike fungible means such as physical currency- wherein, a $100 note could be exchanged for two $50 notes.

NFTs, in short, are digital assets representing real-world objects such as music, videos, in-game items, images and art.

An interesting aspect about NFT is that, just like any other physical type of art, NFTs can be bought and sold as well since they hold a value primarily set by the market and demand. The unique code and data pertaining to the NFTs make it easy to verify and validate the ownership/ transfer of ownership.

At V-Grading, we enable our users to enjoy not only grading and sub-grading services with free delivery tracking, but also a chance to create NFTs and explore the NFT Marketplace.

Creating NFTs with V-Grading starts with the first step of making an online order to let us know you are interested in our services. Post receiving the order, an email will be sent to you containing all necessary instructions regarding your card shipment.

Upon receiving the shipment, your card will be evaluated and graded with V-Grading standards using forensic grading equipment.
The NFT of this graded card would then be transferred to the wallet address provided by the customer. Finally, after the NFT is claimed and burned, the card would be carefully packaged and sent back to the owner with the help of our logistics partner.

However, it must be kept in mind that the value of an NFT does not stop at where it is purchased. Even after purchase, the NFT can make its way around the Internet- gaining more value with the popularity it attains. The owner can choose to sell this once the value increases or buy new ones on NFT Marketplaces such as OpenSea, Rarible and so on. Some of these platforms are open to everyone, while some are restricted to invites, so it is recommended for users to do their due diligence to select the best suited platform for them.

Furthermore, as a reassurance to the ones who might be new to the NFT realm and worried about counterfeits or replicas, creating or circulating replicas of an NFT or a fake collectable would not work in the long run, as each item can be traced back to its owner.

With the blooming popularity of NFTs and card collectables, we at V-Grading aim at learning from the shortcomings of the notable and established  grading companies to take grading for our customers to an even higher level!
